Meet Kelly
I’m Kelly. I’m a mom to twin boys and a Hand in Hand parenting instructor. My passion is helping parents bring more connection, playfulness and laughter into their families in a way that aligns with their unique values.
Before becoming a mom, I taught at and ran a Montessori preschool for several years. The school’s philosophy was rooted in positive discipline, and I knew that this was something that I wanted to carry forward into my parenting journey when the time came.
And then our boys arrived – nine weeks early and requiring medical care for several weeks. It was nothing like I had expected, and bringing them home sent me into a spiral of anxiety that lasted almost two years.
I was doing all of the positive discipline I knew with my then eighteen-month-old, wilful, spirited and adventurous boys. But I struggled with consistency and when to use which tool. I was exhausted and emotionally burnt out. Was I being too permissive? Was I being too strict? Finding the line between my own intuition and what professionals advised was difficult.
And then I found Hand in Hand Parenting. Through using the tools, there was a massive transformation – mostly within myself – but in our whole family.

Hand in Hand parenting taught me:
how to connect with my children through play and laughter
how to set limits in a consistent and respectful way
how to handle tantrums and big upsets
how to really hear and see my child
the brain science behind behaviour and emotions
and most importantly, how to trust myself!
